Norimichi Uchida, Head of Cyber Security Service Department Starting their cybersecurity services in 1995, anticipating the dawn of modern IT society—LAC is a pioneer in the cybersecurity space, accumulating a wealth of knowledge and expertise in mitigating increasingly sophisticated cyber threats using cutting-edge technologies and best industry practices over the years. Initially, the company began by offering security diagnostic services to check for any vulnerability in the customer’s system through a vulnerability assessment. In 2000, LAC set up the Japanese Security Operation Center (JSOC), currently the largest cyber-security threat monitoring center operating 24 hours for 365 days. The JSOC provides security monitoring services such as Managed Security Services (MSS) to enable clients to optimize the performance of their security devices through real-time analysis in correlation to its in-house SIEM, called LAC Falcon®.

In the next 12 to 18 months, we want to increase our flexibility and achieve high quality of enterprise cyberspace monitoring based on our experience, to respond to the customer requests more accordingly," says Ko Sasaki
Based on the data accumulated through two decades of experience in security monitoring and operation, LAC Falcon® visualizes various incidents and risks to enable a quick and advanced incident response. LAC Falcon® reports only the most relevant critical attacks by eliminating false positives and unsuccessful attacks to enable clients to proactively mitigate the risks ensuring the minimal impact on business continuity. Experts at LAC compile this information into two parts—the first part consists of adding LAC’s signature into the firewall to simplify the task of protecting websites from known attacks. The second part is sharing this information with the customer to provide a list of the domain of cyber-attackers into their devices to be well equipped against future attacks. Currently, “LAC Falcon” processes more than 800 million daily logs through a multi-stage screening process using its unique analysis engine to support customers.
Since its inception, LAC has strived to understand needs from a customers’ point of view and possess the knowledge and ability to provide the highest level of cyber security to protect their IT systems with state-of-the-art solutions. Against this backdrop, the company has continually focused on providing first-rate security services such as emergency response and action, information security planning, consulting services, and security personnel training to address customer trends and challenges. “In the next 12 to 18 months, we want to increase our flexibility and achieve high quality of enterprise cyberspace monitoring based on our experience, to respond to the customer requests more accordingly,” says Norimichi Uchida. As the Japanese government has established a new Digital Agency to overcome inefficiency in public administration, LAC firmly believes it will play a more significant role in securing enterprise data and networks. In that manner, the LAC is expected to function as a “lubricant” to improve the performance of the Digital Agency, which is an engine of reform to push the government forward both nationally and at the local level.
